First Presbyterian provides an opportunity for traditional worship in the sanctuary and follows the reformed model for liturgy, music (with organ and choir), prayer, scripture, the preached word, and the peoples response.
In worship we seek to magnify the glory of God and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ in ways that challenge the mind, nourish the spirit, honor tradition, demonstrate liturgical depth, exercise creativity in its use of music and the arts, and address the needs of individuals and families today.
Parts of Worship
Services are held each Sunday morning at 10:00 am. Sunday School classes meet at 9:00 am. We also hold memorial services and other services. We keep our Sunday service recordings and some other memorial service recordings here.
First Presbyterian Church's music is varied within a traditional framework. Instrumental and vocal solos contribute to the atmosphere of worship. Choirs are available for children through adults.
In the act of remembering that is the Lord’s Supper, we receive and trust the love of Christ present to us and to the world. Through it, we are renewed and empowered to be the church, the body of Christ, in the world. Communion is normally observed the first Sunday of the month.
Aside from FPC's Sunday services, we also take part in several other important services throughout the year. You are welcome to join us!
Service at 6:30 pm in the sanctuary. Service of reflection, penitence, and imposition of ashes.
Join the children of the church in a festive parade of palms at the beginning of the 10:00 am service.
Worship service at 10:00 am in the sanctuary.
