Who We Are
Clarksville, Tennessee was incorporated in 1784. Dr. Gideon Blackburn, an itinerant Presbyterian minister, preached outdoors in a place south of Clarksville called Tompkins Grove. He organized First Presbyterian Church on May 25, 1822.

Today we have over 500 members worshiping God. We are part of the Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA). Here is a general guide to facts about the Presbyterian Church USA.

You can learn more about upcoming events by subscribing to our weekly newsletter. Contact Anita Randolph at for more information.

COVID-19 :: Anouncements
Our Session has made the decision to pause in-person worship through January 24, with resumption on January 31, pending another assessment of the current state of the pandemic.

Our COVID-19 task force arrived at this recommendation by assuming that the post-holiday surge will hit between now and January 15. Assuming individuals become Covid positive at the end of this period (January 15), and allowing for 10 days for disease evolution, this brings us to an anticipated surge completion on or about January 25. This logic mirrors that used by CMCSS. We will continue to monitor community spread and positive test percentages over the coming weeks leading up to the 31st. The committee will make a recommendation on January 24 about worship on the 31st.

We will continue to improve the full, pre-recorded, online Service on YouTube and Facebook for those choosing to join from home.
