"First Presbyterian Clarksville is an historic, downtown church with a strong commitment to service, that is transitioning into the 21st century in all aspects of church life while staying true to our timeless traditions. We are a church filled with caring people who love God and are striving to build their relationship with Christ. We are a church body that deeply believes in our mission statement: With Christ as our Savior and Guide, we seek to know God's love and share it with each other, our community and the world.

Our congregational health, however, mirrors the decline of the church in our current culture. In 2003 we averaged 299 in worship weekly, but by 2013 our average worship attendance had declined to 200. This decline is not just a number to us; it is personal. Throughout this decade, we have been affected by loss, grief, changes, and indecision. As a whole, we still have many wonderful, capable members who work to strengthen the church and spread the Word of God. Over the years these members have gravitated toward niches of interest and drifted away from a cohesive vision. Our dream is to enhance the works already taking place, encourage the involvement of others, and work together towards a more focused vision."
